The Communicator - January 2015
A look back as we move forward.
It is said you cannot move forward until one understands where they have been. In 2014, our firm was able to work with some amazing clients. These projects defined our efforts over the past 12 months, but also carved out a direction for us in 2015. This year, our firm continues to grow and expand. Providing public relations, marketing, branding and digital marketing to a variety of amazing companies, organizations and non-profits has been the backbone of our agency's philosophy since inception five years ago.
What still rings true for 2015 is the importance of relationships. The value we place not only in the mission of each of our clients, but the true partnership we both create as brands are crafted, marketing campaigns executed and ethical media relations are practiced will light our way through the coming months. Finally, we will continue to be strong stewards of our own community, donating more than $65,000 in services to three different non-profit organizations.
Ultimately, it all comes down to character. We have 365 days of challenges only to be measured by 365 days of successes. Every time the name of our agency is mentioned, it must stand for ethics, value and substance. Public relations and marketing is what we do on a daily basis. Building strong, lasting and positive relationships is the product of our efforts.
Highlights from 2014
Statewide Campaign for Allan Houser
The 100th anniversary of native Oklahoma artist Allan Houser's birth was in 2014. To celebrate his life, 12 cultural institutions worked together through a statewide, year-long celebration showcasing his works. Vann & Associates worked with the Oklahoma Museums Association as well as the partners to brand the campaign, develop publicity opportunities, develop and manage digital marketing tools including a new website (www.OKHouser.org) and social media campaign. Due to the campaign’s huge success, these principles will be presented during the American Alliance of Museums National Conference to be held in Atlanta this April.
Crisis Communications with Hufford Family
When the call came in asking if Vann & Associates would represent the Hufford family after the tragedy their family experienced at Vaughn Foods, there was never any hesitation. We were honored to work with Kelli Hufford and her family during this difficult time in their lives. A nationally publicized story, it became very personal for each and every one of our team members.

Zombies invaded the Orr Family Farm last fall. The new attraction at the family-friendly venue was a reach outside of the box for the attraction. A massive operation, the new Zombie Apocalypse Paintball attraction necessitated the development of a media-rich, four month campaign including extended branding, video production, concept development, campaign development, graphic design, media relations and advertising placement. A series of movie trailer-like web commercials coupled with a teaser campaign launched the new attraction. Because of this incredibility successful campaign for the Orr Family Farm, don't be surprised if the Zombie Apocalypse expands in 2015.
