Graphic Design: What Trends Are Hot
Ignoring graphic design is nearly impossible. Glancing at food packaging, driving by billboards, passing tote bags on the street, book covers and even coffee menus will not let you escape the attention-pulling designs. With the loud and crowded design field, it’s crucial your brand’s visual content is memorable among the masses.
Easier said than done, right? While researching for our own brand management, we came across a resourceful infographic, which is a trend itself, reviewing the key trends to eye-popping graphics. Depositphotos’, a microstock photography agency, infographic reviews 2019 graphic design subjects your brand should consider. After review and implementation, we can confidently say they got it right.
To create graphics that rise above the noise and demand consumer attention, consider applying the four trends below. While there are of course more trends to review, we found these four to be a solid starting point.
1. Fluid Shapes
It’s time to revamp your shapes. Flat, perfect shapes are outdated and easily overlooked on a screen, page, ad, you name it! Fluid and flowing shapes create movement. The lines are smooth and graceful and have no fixed shape or prediction of their next move. Incorporating this trend into your designs are proven more likely to hook a viewer.
2. 3-D Design
Surprise! Flat designs are kicked to the curb again. Visuals portraying 3-D designs are gaining momentum as a 2019 front-runner trend. It’s used to create depth and a unique user experience across platforms. Think about the differences 3-D shapes display from a print piece to an Instagram ad’s landing page. This trend allows a different experience for every piece.
3. Bold, Neon Colors
Shock! If you’re using neon colors, the goal is to surprise the viewer with the design’s boldness. Going bigger and better is the new motto for graphic designs. Cobalt blues, electric lime, neon carrot and many more bright colors will hold restless eyeballs.
The natural absence of symmetry, asymmetry, incites curiosity because of its unconventional positioning. While symmetry can be pleasing to the viewer, it can also be overlooked. Unexpected layouts or compositions disrupt the viewers flow and intrigue a need of understanding. This simple trend of using your space and getting outside the grid lines can have tremendous effects to ensure your brand’s visuals are seen and more importantly, remembered.
